My Reviews:

"The Highlander's Reward"

I thoroughly enjoyed this novel. It had the perfect mix of adventure, action, and romance in my opinion! Arbella was a very likable heroine, who was a strong character, but also feminine enough to make her a good romance novel character.

I love historical fiction romance novels, and this definitely had all of the characteristics of a good one. In my opinion, the best historical fiction romance novels involve characters who end up falling in love in spite of the fact that their countries are at war. This novel definitely has that with an English/Scottish rivalry that helps to spice up this story and add to the overall interest. Not only is this story a great romance novel, it also has enough historical content woven throughout to keep the history nerd inside of me is happy. I loved the author's descriptions of the surrounding landscapes, which take your breath away, and put you right in the story with them.  I also love the way she is able to add real historical content into the book, which definitely makes it more interesting and realistic.

I would definitely recommend this book to both lovers of historical romance novels. It kept my interest the entire time, and I would gladly read another book by Eliza Knight.

I give this novel FIVE out of FIVE stars.

"The Highlander's Conquest"

I was so excited to review “The Highlander’s Conquest” by Eliza Knight. I read the first book in this series, “The Highlander’s Reward” awhile ago, and I loved it! This novel, like the first one, is filled with sexual tension, romance, and adventure, and all three help to make up a perfect novel, in my opinion! The sexual tension between Aliah and Blane was intense from the beginning, and you can tell it is going to lead to some steamy chemistry between the two of them! Blane is a sexy Scottis Highlander and Aliah is an English woman who, prior to meeting Blane, wanted to be a nun, but hen these two get together, there are fireworks. Aliah is able to bring out the best in the rough highlander, and the romance between them is at times sweet, and at times erotic and sexy. The adventure they take through Scotland, chased by Blane’s need for revenge, as well as enemies, definitely makes their story an interesting as well as adventuresome one.

I really enjoyed reading this novel, but at times it was a little repetitive. It seemed like the first part of the book was based mostly on writings about Blane and Aliah constantly thinking about each other, and about how much they want each other, but not making any moves towards making that happen!  Aliah was also a little repetitive in mentioning how she will have to repent once she’s a nun, and about how her father won’t approve of her choice to become a nun.  The repetition got a little annoying at times, but the overall story made up for it. Also, it seemed like there was a lot of talk in the beginning, and not a lot of action happening.

However, give me a novel about Scotland, and throw in a love story, and I’m hooked. If you enjoy romance novels, especially those that are historical, than this is a good novel to check out!

I give “The Highlander’s Conquest” FOUR out of FIVE stars.
